About Traci

Traci Vaine is the Chief Executive officer at CEI Capital Management LLC, a subsidiary of the Maine-based community development financial institution, Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) and carries forward its mission to build just, vibrant and climate-resilient futures for people and communities in Maine and rural regions by integrating finance, business expertise and policy solutions in ways that make the economy work more equitably.  CCML focuses on investing in projects in rural communities across the country that create quality jobs with benefits and opportunities for career growth, with a specialty in manufacturing.

As CEO of CEI Capital Management LLC (CCML), Ms. Vaine oversees all aspects of the organization’s operations. Ms. Vaine is responsible for overall staff development and management. She guides the strategic direction and financial success of CCML through achievement of current and long-range objectives, including direct oversight and involvement with capital raising and deployment efforts, project sourcing and underwriting, investment recommendations, NMTC application preparation and review, accounting, compliance, asset management, public relations and community engagement.  

Ms. Vaine joined CCML in 2008 and served as CCML’s Chief Compliance Officer for eight years, where she led CCML’s asset management team, was responsible for the organization’s NMTC program compliance and served as the company’s primary liaison to regulators. Prior to joining CCML, Vaine was the co-founder of Fantasy Stock Market, Inc., an industry-leading e-learning stock market program. She also served as a financial advisor at Smith Barney.  Ms. Vaine lives with her husband and two children in Cape Elizabeth, Maine where she enjoys the scent of pine trees and sea air on her runs.
