Bringing Together The People Who Make Impact Possible
Hello, CEI alumni! We are inviting you to reconnect with us.
CEI will be celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2027. As we prepare to mark this milestone we want to start by rebuilding community with you – the former staff, board members, interns and fellows across the family of CEI organizations who helped build CEI into the organization that we are today.
We are planning a kick-off event on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 at our headquarters in Brunswick, and we hope you will be there!
The event will be in two parts:
- Impact Workshop (2-4 PM): What is CEI doing today and what has our recent impact been? This informal afternoon workshop style session will be an opportunity to hear from our current team about what we are doing today, what we are learning, and what our [cumulative] impact has been. If you have been wondering how our work has changed since you were here and what has stayed the same, this part of the gathering will be for you.
- Reception (4-7 PM): Reconnect with your former colleagues and make new connections with like-minded folks. This will be mostly unstructured time to catch up with former colleagues and friends with Maine-made food and drinks. You may find yourself hearing where your former officemate’s baby is now in college or debating what Maine would be like today if CEI had never existed.
In addition to being a fun get-together, this will be the launch of the CEI Alumni Network. Joined by our shared experience working at CEI, along with a commitment to vibrant communities, economic development and social justice, the CEI Alumni Network will connect current and former CEI staff, interns, fellows and board members in Maine and beyond.
Through the CEI Alumni Network, we hope to nurture social and professional connections that support career development for you and the next generations of community development leaders in economic development and shared progress towards a just, vibrant, and climate-resilient future for people and communities in Maine and rural areas.
Each alum who signs up will receive a small gift to show your CEI pride and anyone who signs up by April 30th will be entered in a raffle for a gift basket of CEI client products (You do not need to be present at the June 9th event to win).
