Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) extends its sincere thanks to MacKenzie Scott, who announced an extraordinary $10 million gift to our organization today. We are honored to be included in a stellar group of 384 nonprofits recognized for doing remarkable work, providing vital services, and advocating for and building systems that enable everyone—regardless of where they were born and who they are—to thrive.
We will steward and invest these funds with great care to advance our mission and build CEI’s capacity to have greater impact in months and years ahead.
As so many people and organizations step up to respond to the devastating impact of the pandemic on lives and livelihoods, we are committed to working with our partners, helping to ensure that families and communities recover and thrive—in Maine and other rural regions. This gift will allow us to take action in this moment, while also thinking strategically about how to continue CEI’s impactful and innovative community development work for another 40+ years.
