Maine Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) – What You Need to Know to Comply

Join this webinar to learn about the Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave Act (PFML):
- Applies to all businesses with 1 or more employees
- Businesses with 15 or more employees must contribute 1% of wages, 0.5% can be deducted from employee wages
- Businesses with fewer than 15 employees must contribute 0.5% of wages, the whole amount can be deducted from employee wages
- Requires all employers with at least one employee based in Maine to register and make contributions.
- To register, visit the Maine Paid Leave Contributions Portal
- Self-employed can opt into the program
- Q1 Wage Reporting starts on April 1st, 2025, with employer contributions due by April 30th, 2025
- Employees can begin using this benefit and taking up to 12 weeks of leave on January 1st, 2026
