Business Planning for Makers, Craft Artists, and Creative Entrepreneurs

Business planning can feel at odds with your passion and desire for creating works of art. But it doesn’t have to!
In fact, it can support and sustain it.
In this 1-hour Zoom session, we’ll approach business planning through a creative and intuitive lens to design a viable and sustainable business plan.
Whether you are just getting started or an experienced maker, this workshop is for you.
Together, we’ll explore how your craft appeals to customer needs and wants while also supporting your own livelihood.
Topics will include:
- Big-picture financials
- Understanding your customer and market
- Aligning passion with purpose
You’ll work with a one-page business plan template specifically designed for artists and makers, and we’ll introduce additional resources available to help you think through the business side of your craft.
This session can be a first step to a more detailed plan.
Whether you have a business plan you’d like to refresh or need to start from scratch, come prepared to think, imagine and articulate your business intention with the support of other participants.
Optional: Bring a sample of your creative work that is meaningful to you to inspire your planning process.
