About Jason

Jason Thomas is the Director, Workforce Solutions and Financial Development Services at Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), a Maine-based community development financial institution with a mission to build just, vibrant and climate-resilient futures for people and communities in Maine and rural regions by integrating finance, business expertise and policy solutions in ways that make the economy work more equitably. He is a member of NeighborWorks America’s Financial Capability Advisory Committee, the Northern Regional Management Advisory Committee, and the Midcoast Maine Ca$h Coalition.

As CEI’s Director, Workforce Solutions and Financial Development Services, Jason oversees a staff of counselors and coaches providing HUD-certified and NeighborWorks America compliant assistance in the areas of homebuyer education, pre and post-purchase counseling, financial capability coaching, and reverse mortgage counseling. Jason is also CEI’s primary foreclosure intervention and prevention counselor, assisting Maine homeowners determine and implement plans to help them retain their homes whenever possible. CEI’s FDS area works with MaineHousing in implementation of the Maine Homeowner Assistance Fund and also collaborates with Maine’s eleven resident-owned manufactured housing communities on financial capability coaching and a matched savings program. FDS also assists CEI clients in lending, business advising, and workforce areas for those who are seeking personal financial coaching in the areas of budgeting and credit improvement.

Prior to working at CEI, Jason filled a number of roles at Bank of America and MBNA America, both in and outside of the State of Maine.
