About Eric
Eric Treworgy is the SBDC Business Advisor for Hancock and Washington Counties, based in Ellsworth. As part of the Business Advising team at CEI, Eric works closely with existing and aspiring entrepreneurs to help move their business or idea forward with no-cost and confidential advising. He regularly discusses finances and capital access, licensing and permitting, marketing, human resources, and the myriad of other issues that small businesses face. His goal is to increase business viability, new jobs, and deployment of capital to support growth of great jobs in Downeast Maine.
Prior to working at CEI, Eric worked for 35 years as a Sales and Marketing VP in the start-up software industry, primarily focused on Supply Chain, Inventory, and Business Optimization. He also served as CEO for STRIVE, an international workforce development agency based in New York with 26 affiliates worldwide. STRIVE helps underserved communities obtain basic training and employment after challenges such as long-term unemployment, rehabilitation from substance abuse, and returning from incarceration. Over 70% of STRIVE graduates are in employment 2 years after completing the program. Most recently, Eric founded PUGNUTS Gelateria, a small batch gelato and premium ice cream shop in Surry, Maine.
