About Emily

Emily Wood is a Program Director, Business Sustainability & Resilience, at Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), a Maine-based community development financial institution with a mission to build just, vibrant and climate-resilient futures for people and communities in Maine and rural regions by integrating finance, business expertise and policy solutions in ways that make the economy work more equitably.

As a CEI Program Director Emily is responsible for strategy development and implementation to meet CEI’s Environmentally Sustainable Enterprises mission pillar. In this role, Emily develops business financing models and opportunities to support sustainability-focused businesses.

Prior to CEI, Emily worked as a Development Manager for ClimateWorks Foundation, a climate change mitigation foundation based in San Francisco. She also worked with MAPC to help develop the Boston Region’s first heat resilience plan.

  • Tufts University, M.S. in Urban Environmental Policy and Planning
  • Saint Mary’s College of California, B.A. in Environmental Studies

  • Commercial Solar Lending Professional Certificate
