Mr. Ellis was founder of Kepware Technologies, a Portland company that writes industrial communications software for the factory, Smart Grid, building automation and oil and gas sector. He served as the company’s CEO and Chairman until its acquisition in 2016 by PTC, Inc. of Needham, MA (Nasdaq: PTC). He was board chair of the Maine Venture Fund and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. He is leading a K-12 software coding project in the Lewiston public school system and serves on several for-profit company boards. Mr. Ellis is an investor in the Coastal Ventures IV portfolio company, NBT Solutions, and serves on the company’s board as Chair.
