Investment Capital

As a mission-driven investor, CEI “borrows” funds in order to make loans to and investments in businesses and projects growing good jobs, environmental sustainability, and more broadly shared prosperity. We borrow from many sources, including:

  • Government agencies such as the USDA, Small Business Administration, and U.S. Treasury Department
  • Foundations such as the Annie E. Casey Foundation and Heron Foundation
  • Funds such as the Sisters of Mercy Fund
  • Religious organizations such as the New England Meeting of Friends
  • Accredited individuals

These sources of capital are deeply important to our work, and we value the relationships that we have with each of our investors, who recognize that investments can transform lives and communities.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic CEI offices are closed to the public. CEI staff are working remotely and want to hear from you! Please reach out to your CEI contact regarding scheduled meetings and/or any questions/concerns. Click here for a list of COVID-19 Business Resources.
