Investment Capital

As a mission-driven investor, CEI “borrows” funds in order to make loans to and investments in businesses and projects growing good jobs, environmental sustainability, and more broadly shared prosperity. We borrow from many sources, including:

  • Government agencies such as the USDA, Small Business Administration, and U.S. Treasury Department
  • Foundations such as the Annie E. Casey Foundation and Heron Foundation
  • Funds such as the Sisters of Mercy Fund
  • Religious organizations such as the New England Meeting of Friends
  • Accredited individuals

These sources of capital are deeply important to our work, and we value the relationships that we have with each of our investors, who recognize that investments can transform lives and communities.
