1997 Social Compact Outstanding Community Investment Award

Rural LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) Founders Award

For the strong commitment of time and energy to help rural CDCs gain the attention, resources and policy support they deserve, Rural LISC salutes Ronald L. Phillips and CEI for serving as a founding and continuing member of the Rural LISC Advisory Committee. 

Governors Pollution Prevention Award

Presented to CEI in recognition of outstanding efforts and accomplishments in pollution prevention. Presented by Governor Angus King, April 25, 1997.

Robert F. Kennedy Organization of the Year Award

Presented to CEI on September 19, 1996 by the National Congress for Community Economic Development.
