Mission: To enhance the ability of organizations and communities to develop, improve, and manage affordable housing and community development initiatives benefiting people with low and very low incomes. The Maine Housing Technical Assistance Consortium is a statewide program designed to efficiently and effectively coordinate all housing technical assistance in the State of Maine. The program is funded through a three-year grant from HUD and is structured to serve nonprofit and for profit organizations, local governments and others involved in developing affordable housing.
The grant is managed by a management team comprising CEI, Maine State Housing Authority, Department of Economic and Community Development, Department of Behavioral and Developmental Services, Anne Gass, Al Smith, and Dennis Lajoie.
Types of Technical Assistance
Short-Term: A few hours spent with a consultant or TA Coordinator to address an immediate need. Long-Term: Many hours spent with a consultant working towards a long-range goal or project.
Workshops & Small Group Trainings: When the Consortium receives similar requests, they may arrange small group trainings to address the needs of several groups efficiently. Examples of available training include low-income housing tax credits, grant writing, organizational development, and the development process.
